A top-rated nationwide EPC focused on sustainable building environments through design, engineering, energy, and construction is seeking a Senior Project Development Engineer to join their Sacramento-based team. In this role, you'll oversee all phases of Solar, BESS, and Microgrid design/build projects, including feasibility studies, cost estimating, engineering calculations, system design, and layouts. These public works and C&I projects average up to 5MW. The salary ranges from $130,000 to $170,000+ based on experience, plus bonus and benefits. The position is based in Sacramento, with in-office expectations, and requires familiarity with the California power market.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination with utility companies, manage interconnection applications
  • Financial analysis of Solar & BESS projects based on the utility rates and available incentives
  • Support pre-sale activities through meetings and discussions with prospective customers, representing the company’s capabilities in the Renewable Power space
  • Provide technical engineering input for estimating and bid proposals as required
  • Provide value-engineering direction for Company engineering activities
  • Act as a Project Manager during the installation of BESS/PV projects as required
  • Review and approve field design change requests prepared by field and other engineers
  • Support and/or act as a commissioning agent during installation and start-up of BESS/Microgrid systems

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy FOCUSED on BESS and microgrid project development, engineering and estimating
  • Knowledge of California regulations specific to renewables
  • Committed team player, looking to be part of a strong team culture
  • A skilled IC and/or a proven manager of people
