This is a unique opportunity to join a highly regarded, full-service design-build and EPC firm as they launch their new Energy Business Unit, focused on renewable energy (solar, BESS and natural gas). It’s a high-priority strategic hire for an already established brand looking for an entrepreneurial leader that possesses a proven track record of scaling business units from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Putting plans in place to develop existing client relationships
- Creating repeatable processes to acquire net new customers
- Introducing tactics and strategies to responsibly scale the business
- Identifying opportunities associated with expansion of services
- Building internal teams and capabilities across engineering, procurement, construction, etc
- Establishing operational best practices
- Shaping efforts around external marketing and communications
- Ownership for the overall P&L for the BU
Requirements
- Significant experience of leading EPC projects in natural gas, solar, and BESS, managing projects valued at $250M+
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (a bonus)
- Substantial field experience with a proven path to leadership
- In-depth knowledge of construction costs at both project and unit levels
- Skilled in contract negotiation and administration
- Forward-thinking, adaptable, and always seeking ways to enhance project outcomes and client satisfaction
- Proven track record in leading large, cross-functional teams
- Experience of mentoring, problem-solving, and driving exceptional results in high-pressure environments
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business development skills and a deep understanding of customer decision-making processes
- Confident in delivering persuasive presentations and building consensus across teams
- Meticulous in scope management and cost control, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project execution
