A leading EPC, with a strong track record in power, renewables and industrial projects, is growing its Engineering team. They’re looking for a Senior PV/Solar Engineer to lead technical excellence on utility-scale solar projects. This role is ideal for a talented Electrical Engineer with PV experience who enjoys diverse responsibilities, from PV modeling and design to stakeholder coordination and project management. The position is offered remote, with quarterly visits to the Connecticut office, therefore proximity to Hartford is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utility-scale solar PV system design and engineering for production & performance, equipment sizing, PV design & layout, estimation, specification, procurement & bid evaluation support, construction, interconnection, and operation of a distributed generation solar PV power plant
  • Site evaluation, proposal development support, detail engineering, production modeling, and commissioning for new & retrofit installations
  • Liaison with AHJs, utilities, Engineer of Record (EORs) subcontractors, major equipment vendors and customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience (c.5 years minimum) in utility-scale solar PV system design and engineering
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, IEEE, & OSHA).
  • Proficiency in PVsyst and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and codes
  • Experience with project management and on-site work
  • Coachability and teaching mindset
