Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily management of a portfolio of operational solar PV assets across the UK, ensuring maximum performance, availability, and efficiency.
  • Monitor asset performance using data analysis and performance reporting tools, identifying underperforming sites and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Ensure all projects meet financial, operational, and contractual targets, working with internal teams and external stakeholders, including investors and lenders.
  • Manage third-party O&M contractors to ensure a high standard of maintenance, operational efficiency, and safety compliance.
  • Regularly review maintenance schedules, contractor performance, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure reliability and optimal operations.
  • Lead the resolution of operational issues, such as equipment faults, to minimise downtime and maximise energy production.
  • Ensure all solar PV assets comply with relevant health and safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and performance analyses for senior management and investors, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Track and optimise key performance indicators (KPIs), such as energy production, availability, and asset profitability.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for performance optimisation, cost savings, and revenue enhancements across the portfolio.
  • Drive innovation by incorporating new technologies and processes that improve asset performance and reduce operational costs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in asset management, preferably within the solar PV or broader renewable energy sector.
  • Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, including performance analysis, operations, and maintenance processes.
  • Experience with financial reporting and modelling, with a solid grasp of asset optimisation.
  • Proficiency in performance monitoring tools and systems commonly used in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
