Our client is looking for an Investment Associate to support renewable energy investments, including solar, wind, and battery storage projects. Based in Hamburg, Germany, in this role you will assist in identifying, analysing, and executing deals, contributing to portfolio growth in the clean energy space.
Responsibilities
Investment Analysis & Due Diligence
- Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify new investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector, including solar, wind, and energy storage.
- Financial Modelling: Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess potential investments, including forecasting returns, cash flow analysis, and sensitivity scenarios.
- Due Diligence: Participate in technical, financial, and legal due diligence for potential acquisitions, ensuring that all aspects of the investment meet the fund's criteria.
Deal Execution:
- Transaction Support: Assist in all aspects of the transaction process, from negotiations to closing, ensuring timely execution of investment deals.
- Documentation: Prepare investment memos, presentations, and other documents required for internal approval processes and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with external advisors, legal teams, and technical experts to ensure a smooth and efficient deal process.
Portfolio :
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the financial and operational performance of portfolio assets, identifying areas for value enhancement and risk mitigation.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing regular portfolio reports for senior management and investors, covering asset performance, financial returns, and industry trends.
Strategic Contribution:
- Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, regulatory changes, and innovations in renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Stakeholder Communication: Build and maintain relationships with project developers, industry partners, and co-investors to enhance deal flow and market insights.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, project finance, or a similar field, preferably with a focus on renewable energy or infrastructure investments.
- Technical Skills: Strong financial modelling and analytical skills. Proficiency in Excel and other relevant tools (PowerPoint, financial software).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, storage) and the energy market in Europe.
- Language: Fluency in German and English.
